Nobility Obligates or Fr. Noblesse Oblige

History

As a child, I perhaps was not reminded enough of what I was given. Nobility is a state of grace, self given perhaps, but recognizes that they are blessed with a history, an of of which has the potential of being as good as the past… or at least as wise as not to repeat it.

Jesus said: “From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.” (Luke 12:48) frm. Wikepedia

Frm. my bible widget: ‘But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.’ (Luke 12:48)
(This translation goes to the trouble I caused, doesn’t go unpunished, but lesser punishment because as a child I didn’t know)

The National Honor Society motto is: Noblesse Oblige (now that’s timely)

Finally Noblesse Oblige reminds me of the scene in the movie ’ Amazing Grace’ where the king’s son in Parlament upon losing the fight to retain slavery legal, says … Nob. Ob. That means he was giving up the fight as a gesture of his great noble response to being entrusted with so much authority, or was he looking at the winner and saying, ‘Now that you have won so big, you have much that will be demanded’

And likewise, can’t we say to the freed slaves, you have now been given so much, you are required to be of great responsibility.

Well, not to get to muckie in the mired down, what needs to be said that it belongs to all of us, because to us, as Woodie Allen miserable as we are, we have been spared the alternative of horribly misfigured, writhing in pain.

Which by the way was my fate for 18 hours from Friday noon to Sat. morning. Abdominal pains, gastric shut down… had to stand up walk around, raise my hands and try to burb… I had eaten 3 large carrots after being kind of hungry… or got a bad peanut out with the gang and the peanut fed pigeons…

I was nicer after seriously wondering if it was my time to get into the quantum entangling matter wavin’ helium treadway… Nobility of restored health, obligates my response of gratitude to the world that allowed my return.

Hello World
