So let me get this straight: no harm was done; no patient filed a complaint; the facility passed its inspections.
Oh, but they didn’t hire exactly the number of people that REGULATIONS required.
Sure that’s worth about a Billion Dollars in damages, and one half of that penalty going to the Trial Lawyers who ‘chased’ up the case.
So ‘Do no harm’ doesn’t mean do no harm to the patient; it means ‘Do no harm to the government regulation’. Gotit.
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t like ‘nursing homes’; I don’t ever want to go to one; I never sent my parents there, and as a matter of fact, they gave me the money to buy a house, so they didn’t have enough money to get it. Mom and dad lived to 96 and 93 on their own and with little help from friends and relatives.
But the alternative of Obamacare; where no regulation will ever be challenged … why, because they will change it before it comes to trial… and where care can be like the worst Gulag of those Soviet Siberian Resort community legends.
So if this stands, there won’t be too many more places to stick granny when she leaves her teeth in the toybox.
