My Physics teacher in college, Woody Constant, was not only the Husband in Albee’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”, but had “QUARK” on his license plate, an early 60’s Porsche.
He mentioned that when he arrived on campus in the late 1950’s, he got to his desk, opened the top drawer, and noticed a warm stone … a chunk of radium. He found a lead container ASAP. That goes to lack of faith and healthy fear, or just another stupid professor.
