In Defense of Mark Williams, Hegel, Dreams, Doormen, Tan White Guys … screw the rest (as in pleasure)

Many claim that there is always a little truth in humor, in satire, even if it is judged ‘an embarrassment’.  So let’s see: the first sentence seems ok.  It’s that second one that people forget is pretending to be a modern day NAACP leader writing to Abe Lincoln, who is about to free ‘Colored People’, or risk and ultimately sacrifice his life in order to accomplish that.  

So we have Mr. Jealous and Ms. Shirley Sherrod with Shirley talking of ‘his kind’ (white guy) and not doing everything she should do for him to save his farm.  Well, here we have a welfare program, where a poor white guy is being helped … which in effect takes it from a black  or ‘colored’ guy .  Now Shirley obviously doesn’t want to do this, and her epiphany of coming together … ‘working together’ … well it got her the promotion … so she could keep on making sure … the black guy got as much as possible.  Oh, yeah and Fox News is trying to stop that because they are racist.

OK … seems to real to be totally imaginary.  Remember in ‘Grapes of Wrath’ (correction ‘Of Mice And Men’ by daughter), by Steinbeck, the rather slow white dude from Okie land, Lenny kept saying’ when they were going to go to California …. ‘to live off the fat of the land.’  Well, I’m 61 and looking’ to that Social Security check in a year …. that I’ve paid in dearly for … but yet, it’s a ‘slave wage’ and it keeps me at least able to buy some food … live with family … kind of survive as a poor man …. under the yoke of ‘the man’.  I can imagine living in a simple house .. in the country …. growing a garden and relaxing in the winter, at night … and not be worried about being  fired, too poor to buy a new car, keep up with the neighbors, and all that other trapping that goes with ‘FREEDOM’ in the work-a-day world.

So I can imagine at least thinking this as a poor man … looking at how difficult it is to compete with all those worldly people out  there.  Hey even the smartest white guy or gal has to worry about the Asians in technology … where they number 30 percent or higher in all the top university technical programs.   Pretty soon, as a white guy, I guess I’ll be getting the 20 points for the leg up in admissions … when I am the recognized minority.

So the game goes on, as it did in  original Africa, when the ruling Tribe rounded up the weaker tribes and sold them off, took their property and perhaps women.  (read Philosophy of History by Hegel pp. 203.  Also p 45 which tells us that life is a cruel place … and if not for laws and morality, we would be on equal footing with the bugs that get underneath our feet on the sidewalk… squish …. and nobody cares.

So Mark Williams, your crime is against the sweet dreams of your potential as a person, who makes his way … the best way he can.  It’s just that Blacks especially have groups like the NAACP trying to give them all the advantages  …. not on merit, but on skin color …. on ‘your kind’ … you know the kind you expect to see in the mirror.  Hard to give up being enslaved by privilege…. but it shows in your vitriol, Shirley, and yours Jealous … as you protect what elitism was granted you by whitey (founders of NAACP were two white guys in 1909 New York).

My dad was especially concerned that I lived within my means.. whatever that means…. and that can mean ‘imagination’ where I work especially hard to benefit me and those I love later on.  I hate to break it to you, but some of the most rewarding times in my life have been when I have been serving the benefit of others … to a doctor that means ‘Do no harm’. Am I a slave to wish that I do not have to pay dearly for every small mistake I make, and like a surgeon, does that mean I have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for the privilege of trying to live up to ‘doing no harm’.

Ease up on Mark Williams.  There is truth there; just not the political propaganda like ‘when you elect me, I will lift all of you above your expectations’.  Hey dummy, you are going to stay a doorman and love it… and in fact you may not be that dumb after all, because it just ain’t that bad.  And Mark, don’t give up your day job to be a satirist; except I can imagine a little stand up comedy in your future, once we get past all this crap…. Hey everyone is created equal… or so our constitution reads.  That doesn’t mean they’re going to remain equal … look at Donald Trump, when he passed the homeless bum asleep on the bench in the park: ‘He’s 58 Million dollars richer than me and he has nothing.’

Of course, until the bail out and the new financial package bill, the joke was on the banker who lent The Don the money … he had to keep giving it too him, until he struck the big one or risk losing it all.  Now whose slave to whom?

Drop  the pretense and look all you melanin endowed people, your not going to have to face that extra tax on tanning booths we vain white guys have to suffer.  Obama stickin’ it to whitey … Wahooo!
