You: Why Dave; why now?
Me: Well, I've a two talented kids; the younger said, 'Stop with the lectures.' Then asked, 'Dad, can I help you set up a blog?' Moments later, Me: 'OK, that's a great idea, thinkin' they might just read it someday.

Science, Uncommon Sense
Now I don’t want to get you all excited about Moldova, but say there were an Escher event, the impossible waterfall. I never considered it as having a cause based on a black hole. Perhaps even super dense matter would display some anomaly, as in Soviet enriched Uranium, Plutonium and other heavy nuclear metals, etc. (It is the area of some early Soviet nuke work, I think. On another side of Spooky is that a black hole could exist without a giant sucking sound of matter… perhaps on a diet, awaiting some visitors or all the matter underground… has been sucked up and a ‘hollow’ perimeter exists around the black hole, where even gaseous matter is so dilute that the black hole cannot grow. Behold, the first comment by a Moldovian, Gaina Alex. A part of it is copied here:
‘Many of peoples think that this could be related with an optical phenomenon, where it is difficult to establish the vertical, since the trees grow under an angle different from 90 degrees. One told sometimes about similar anomalies in Romania in Carpatian Mauntains and Georgia (Caucasus). Suppose, that we have below the place GA a small black hole with a mass above the Hawking limit (M> 10^15 g) and much less than a 1/100 of 1/1000 of the Earth mass, say. It will produce gravitational anomalies, such as resting vehicles going up, or water going up. The device could be used to find such mini nonevaporating black holes.’
