You: Why Dave; why now?
Me: Well, I've two talented kids; the younger mentioned my stopping with the lectures. Then enthusiastically asked, 'Dad, can I help you set up a blog?' Moments later, Me: 'OK, that's a great idea, thinkin' they might just read it someday.

I should save this for Dad’s day as dad had been invited to join some sailor friends and I think even bring the family on a ‘Trek of Ulysses’ through the Greek isles and beyond. Dad might have glimpsed at the picture I posted celebrating my mom, so now that he’s reading that blog… feeling a little smug… at my glibness with his consciousness, he might be calmed by the sirens in this photo… and perhaps he has developed the mass and forces necessary to guide himself there.
I would appreciate a dream update; the last really memorable one was when they both invited me out to a hotdog automate …. where for 29cents you got all the condiments on half a dog…. and that dream was years ago. They are still thrifty… but they did spring for a cruise on a Greek ship around the Carribean for a week, back in 1986… the extended family of about 12. I quit smoking after that trip… so it was really appreciated. Thanks dad… and happy dad’s day. You really gave of yourself and stretched every freedom with reasonable responsibility expectations.

Sister Saphrona is in Greece and will be sailing on the STS Mir for the Historical Seas Tall Ship Regatta. This picture she took of Acroplis of Athens is pretty darn cool.
