Taking showers can make you sick.
Science, Health
It seems that a way to lessen or eliminate the risk is both let the water run from the shower head for at least 30 seconds and get a metal shower head. It might also be a good idea to spray or pour some hydrogen peroxide into the head, maybe weekly, especially if you have a flexing head that is used ‘where the sun don’t shine.’
Sort of.
Getting a face full of shower water can lead to lung disease.
Researchers from the University of Colorado found that 30 percent of shower heads contain extremely high levels of Mycobacterium avium, which is linked to pulmonary infections. Since tiny droplets of water from a shower often suspend themselves in the air, it makes it easy for the bacteria to be inhaled into the lungs.
