History, Law (marriage), Human Affairs (& bird vs. bees), Humor, Theology (you thought I forgot)
I’m not too carefully thinking that this is a good way to get growing, adult and nearly adult, children to understand that ‘marriage is complicated’, life ever more so, and history … well there’s a lot of conjecture going on, if you know what I mean and one thing is for sure, for all the criticism thoughout supposedly religious history as presented in this very slightly biased report, the final scene is not to be taken seriously, because if that were such a ‘good’ idea, you wouldn’t be here to watch this film, read and comment on this blog, or generally panic when Al Gore speaks, looking for a stamp to send in your ‘green’ backs and credits. And disease, I’ve lost some friends to this ‘fickle with the pickle’ logic. I’m thinking that this ‘free expression’ is worth what I and you will pay for it, and that it meets the standard of ‘Do no harm’. Looking from god’s perspective, well it did help populate the earth … and for whatever slightly envious historian voyeaur was chronicling this, it really didn’t rise too much worse than say Slick Willy, Woody (not Harrelson) but I mean Tiger Woods, John Edwards, and actually a distant grandfather who in the 17th century had a wife and children in England and one in America, both having sufficently supportive societies to raise the children in .
No, children, as disrespectful as this film is to all the pedophile priests, ministers each Sunday trying to ply you from your money … ‘tithe now before you diethe’ …. marriage, theology, and god himself are all about children, mine - that’s you, and yours when you can find the time and courage. It’s not about hugging someone of the same sex, even spooning like former US representative Massa, from NY, or his tickle parties, etc.
Don’t be fooled, god might be a lonely man, less so now for sure, but in the early days …. hey you got children where you could and from healthy women usually devoted to her children.
That’s not to say all that early stuff is where now we should focus … no there are laws and mean, selfish lawyers out there to squeeze your wallet till it pops - ouch. Be responsible … find someone to love, that loves you. It’s ok to be ‘Searchin’ for A heart of Gold’ … not salt. That’s where it’s at, so to speak.
Now go out there and make me grandchildren, again when you’re ready. I’ll help out all I can … promise. Oh, and that song from Monty Python, about ‘Sperms are Precious’, that’s a bit 9th Century too. But it’s a catchy toon. You can look it up on YouTube, next to the rousing ‘Universe Song’, my fav.
And thanks to thelasttraintocool.tumblr.com for getting ‘hooked up with Betty here’. Don’t worry, that’s figuratively … cool?
