A while ago, I blogged about being hit in the face by a hackney pony with spiked shoes, square knobs that were at each end of the shoe, in height about the same as the width. There and in public, in front of a very accomplished and to me well respected graduate engineer, I confided that the slow motion feeling causing me to have just enough time to turn my head enough that the shoe grazed my cheek (swelling it a couple of golf balls in a few hours … but breaking nothing) … and thus avoiding a direct facial assault that could have pushed my nose or jaw several inches into my skull or worse.
I proposed that I experienced ‘neutrino time’ … a lightspeed exchange of electrons with neutrinos activating the synapses necessary to accomplish the immediacy of the movement. I concede the point that this may be influenced (as well) by andrenalin flooding synapses as well and this was building up as the event unfolded over a few minutes when the pony started hitting the singletree and I immediately became alarmed, and since we were excelerating told the person riding with me to get off into the soft grassy field (luckily), which she immediately did.
With this report, and especially the ‘oscillations… neutrinos appear to vanish’ perhaps we, as life forms, as opposed to ‘light bulbs’ who use only electrons made by your friendly generators, have absorbed some of these neutrinos and incorporated them into our living cells. And when called upon, they may be able to answer as a kind of ‘governor’ function which sets limits on what is a life-enhancing ‘oscillation’ and what threatens that.
I realize I’m giving these ‘Wiley Coyotes’ a little more ‘gravitas’ than seems to be able to be detected …. but what if … it were just from another Atomic Watchmaker’s clock?
