One theory is that the Federal Government, or most government in general push Equal Rights, not as Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness, but as Equal Rights in terms of Condition, or Life’style’, Liberty’over another’, and Pursuit’demand’ of Happiness’Privileged Status’. So Government is ‘more equal’ that citizens. Government workers get better Retirement Benefits, Health Benefits, Vacation Benefits to name a few. Government workers, an I was one for a few years, look to progress by creating problems, then arguing to hire more people to solve them, and it usually takes the form of complicating issues, (a big one for FEMA is ‘critical’ action … when and where and how). I spent some time unraveling the law to show a consistent thread that was ignored. It is more advantageous to gather a group to discuss, argue, mobilize, purchase, outfit, delegate and in the whole mix to then reconsider …. and publish (after review and spell check) a 2400 page document that is ambiguous …. which can hold no one accountable and that will require many to repeat the procedure each time something happens … until the lowly bureaucrat who implements the procedures has a large enough staff that one section grows sufficiently complex to require an new staffing subsection, etc….. until everyone is employed by the government and someone agrees to just print money to pay them … also in the government…. Government by the government and for the Government…. shall it stand?
Hey you citizens only owe $14 Trillion so far ….
Remember New Orleans flooding and the hundreds of school busses left in the flood …. because the government didn’t think people should have to be evacuated in the lowly vehicles used for kids or they couldn’t contact the school system to get the permission to use them …. or something …. no committee had yet been formed to decide what to do…. so say 200 busses at $100,000 each is say a meer $20Million loss, and the 6000 people stranded …. at $10,000 each is a mere $60million. No big deal… makes for use of a whole team of government purchasers, medical emergency crews, yada yada yada. I just wonder, if there are any procedures in place for the next flooding of New Orleans?
