A Tree House in Kiwiland
Real Estate, Design, Environment
The tree house seems to surround the tree; not a very practical material or especially environmentally connected. There’s a lot of design … not too much space and a lot of equipment and money to construct.
But I remember my tree house with Jay, three story, scraps of wood and it was a lot of fun. I do think that as in Germany, the law passed after the Dresden fire bombing of the cultural city, that no structural material should be made from trees. This left concrete, mud, and steel as the expressions of buildings. But beautiful forests, picked clean of debris for firewood, adjacent to expansive fields and then a town, a fountain and some music. In the higher density countries, and that includes now our own, we would be wise to adopt such a law … to protect the trees, and once cut, they would be honored with carvings and display.
