You: Why Dave; why now?
Me: Well, I've two talented kids; the younger mentioned my stopping with the lectures. Then enthusiastically asked, 'Dad, can I help you set up a blog?' Moments later, Me: 'OK, that's a great idea, thinkin' they might just read it someday.

This ‘Glass and Grass’ building is spectacular in its visual, but no practical use for the green roof? When building on a hilside, rather than a basement, a dig out of the hill and then an extension of the hill with the roof, or even reconstruct the hill with the building. It would save lots of wood and the concrete and steel would be extra security in an emergency, and the flat top roof would be a great viewing patio, or garden, where you could control the soils, etc. Don’t forget a parapet wall and an overflow for rain, based on the strength of the roof.
