Me: Well, I've two talented kids; the younger mentioned my stopping with the lectures. Then enthusiastically asked, 'Dad, can I help you set up a blog?' Moments later, Me: 'OK, that's great, thinkin' they might just read it someday.

‘Actually need’ is not a fixed amount of salt; if you exercise, you sweat; then you need salt. Salt, as in NaCl or KCl are necessary for heart and brain function…. I know, because growing up I listened to this nonsense and didn’t eat salt. On a hot day, into mile 3 of a 6 mile cross country run, I ran out of salt. That’s like hitting a brick wall. This luckily occurred near the coach. I got an syrupy dose of Gatoraide, was led to a shower, and couldn’t feel myself or the water hitting me. I saw it; couldn’t tell if it was hot or cold. The next step was heart stop.
I don’t know what idiots fund these studies, but active (ACTIVE!) kids NEED SALT. And if they get a little too much, they get thirsty and PISS IT OUT. There is a feedback loop, just like for CO2 and O2, you know that poison we breath out, Carbon Dioxide, which is food to plants, dummies.
Yeah, and join Obama and save Big Bird’s Social Security Check….
Oh, I know, you and Obama want to tax it….

The results for 320 children aged 4-12 years show that, on average, they are consuming four times more salt than they actually need.Read more: http://www.laboratoryequipment.com/news/2012/10/seventy-percent-kids-exceed-recommended-salt-limit
