Turkey, a member of NATO, who also has forces in Afghanistan, has been compromised according to debka.com.
Remember when Turkey wouldn’t let us go thru their territory to invade Iraq. And the Kurds…. well Iran and Turkey were aligned on this way back in 2003. Perhaps now only their ‘true colors’ are shining thru.
This would be a good excuse to leave Afghanistan, especially the ‘Nation Building’ as it will sap our time, effort and energy … only to be betrayed by the likes of our ‘NATO Ally’ Turkey.
We need to back out…. and keep troupes in friendly hands, well protected, perhaps in ships …. Murtha may in fact be right…. and then when bad stuff begins to happen …. crush it…. all the while some can remain spies, hidden and earning the trust of the locals…. ,but know how dangerous it will be. Announcing the increased troupe strength and sending in some fresh meat will be good, but all the while …. drawing down for readiness training and support. Like terrorists, don’t let them know what you are doing or when.
Remember Fort Hood, where we took in the Trojan Horse, and now how many more of the 3500 Muslims in the Army are waiting for their call of Allah Akbar … Jihad?
