A note: I have heard, and the fact that there is such a large exhibit of Galileo, confirm that Galileo was a friend to the pope and helped publish his book. His house arrest was for his protection as well as to shield the ‘peasants’ who might loose their faith, try to follow another who, like Galileo, may have had one discovery like a drop in a vast ocean of undiscoveries. The church has had 400 years to not only accept facts of science, but I dare say that the introduction and proof that BEC’s exist and can laser matter as we know lasers synchronize photons means that ‘burning bushes’, ‘immaculate conceptions’, ‘a glowing guy in a tent’ could possibly exist, or more possibly now to the scientist than before BEC’s were proved.
And we have in large measure Doubting Thomas, the first Astrobiologist who just had to touch the wounded, risen Jesus.
Bravo for creativity, dogged tenacity, and a lot of humility.
