Damping Quasi-particles in a BEC

Heck yeah, filtering, refining, separating, dare I say purifying the BEC. A lot of advanced math and physics going on here.
I’m really not sure, and I couldn’t find what element, molecule, or matter the BEC was composed of…. although my guess is it could be ‘pocket lint’ … which would explain (to my satisfaction) the stuff about ‘quasi-particles’. Hey, I used to be in charge of a poor fellow, hit by a train as he walked past a huge snow bank in one of the worst winters on record in Chicago area … and his father had just died …. he went from a straight A student to someone who smoked countinuously and could only grunt sounds. He had full physical control otherwise. The point being we finally had to give him a pouch of tobacco and papers … to slow his smoking down … he soon ran out of tobacco, and would reach into his pocket and roll whatever he found. Perhaps it was dinner’s dessert, for he was observed on occasion to put his left over pie in his pocket. I was just thinking …. these would certainly qualify as quasi-particles, yes?
Any physicists reading this… comments … Eureka moments, perhaps? Slap me verbally silly? Give it your best shot.
